Nestled at an elevation of 5000 feet in the pristine Northern Rocky Mountains of Montana and surrounded by almost a million acres of wilderness, Feathered Pipe is a magnificent, vibrant oasis in which to dissolve distractions and nurture a deeper connection to yourself. Join Neta Katz and I for an inspiring week-long retreat in this extraordinary setting!
One of the oldest centers for conscious living and yoga retreats in the US, Feathered Pipe has been helping us experience our wholeness and remember our connection to all of life for more than 40 years. Many of today’s foremost voices on yoga, meditation, wellness and health have come through its doors at one time or another, including senior Iyengar teachers Patricia Walden, John Schumacher, Dean Lerner and our beloved Mary Dunn, who was a primary pillar of Feathered Pipe's programs from very early on until her passing in 2008. We are deeply honored and excited to walk in these footsteps and provide a renewed east-coast Iyengar presence at Feathered Pipe.
In this unspoiled setting, we will lead two daily extended yoga classes suitable for all levels from relative beginners to experienced practitioners — an active asana class in the morning, and a restorative and pranayama practice in the evening. As the week progresses, we will build upon a steady foundation of fundamental principles, towards a deeper, more refined practice that addresses individual needs, and develops each student’s skills and abilities.
Between sessions, there will be plenty of leisure time to savor the afterglow of your practice. Spend a lazy afternoon in the canoe paddling around the beautiful spring-fed lake, take a swim, go for a hike, take a turn at the rope swing, or indulge in a nap. Optional excursions, including river rafting/kayaking on the Missouri River, and trips to Helena, can be arranged.
Spend time alone, or find community with others. Explore ambling brooks, wildflower meadows, and Big Sky vistas, or sit on the open lawn in the shade of cottonwood trees, shimmering aspens, and fragrant pines with an exquisite view of the secluded lake. Wind down the day with a massage, enjoy the sunset with a friend and then the shimmering star-studded sky.
Feathered Pipe has implemented a Covid-19 safety protocol based on CDC recommendations for all programs at the Ranch this season, including the requirement that all participants show proof of a negative COVID-19 test, taken within 72 hours prior to program’s start date. The full cost of the retreat with basic, shared accommodations is $1885 per person. This includes yoga classes, lovingly-prepared vegetarian meals, use of Ranch facilities and an optional Airport Shuttle Service. It does not include air fare, laundry or bodywork.
